All licenses begin at the time of the first payment.
Subscriptions are cancellable only on the website.
Monthly Subscriptions
- Paid and cancellable monthly.
- Receive all software updates automatically without additional charge. User chooses when to install.
- Adjust target count at any time by any amount, manually (via the website) or
automatically via Appchkr's unique Auto-Flex option.
- Increased target counts incur a charge prorated to the next billing date for the difference
between the existing and new target counts, applied on the day of the change.
- Decreased target counts receive a pro-rated credit for the difference, which is applied against
future charges. There are no refunds for target count reductions, only credits against future
charges.
- The price schedule in effect at the time the subscription was created will be applied
to target count changes as long as the subscription is paid up: The price for any target
count will remain the same as it was when the subscription began and changes in target
count will be charged at that price rather than any current price that may be higher. At its
sole option Nova Software may apply any decreases in the price schedule on the website
to that subscription, but will not apply any increases in that schedule to a monthly account
in good standing. A delinquent account forefits its price protection.
- May be converted to a yearly subscription license at any time with credit for prior subscription
payments up to the cost of the yearly license. Requires a new license ID. The yearly license
replaces the monthly license.
- May be converted to a One-time license at any time with credit for prior subscription
payments up to the cost of the One-time license. Requires a new license ID. The One-time license
replaces the subscription license.
Yearly Subscriptions
- Paid and cancellable yearly.

One-time Purchase
- Paid once, non-cancellable.
- Valid for the number of targets up to the target count for which it was puchased.
- Valid only for the software release in which it is first activated.
- A new One-time license with higher target count may be purchased at any later time with credit for
the original purchase, pro-rated during the first 24 months -- Full credit in the first month after the
origin purchase down to 1/24 credit in the 24th month and none thereafter. The new license replaces the
previous one.
- A new One-time license for a later software release may be purchased at any time with pro-rated credit
for a previous license over the first 24 months. The new license replaces the previous one.
- More economical than multi-year subscription payments.
- Not convertible to any other license type.
LICENSE TYPE CONVERSIONS
Conversions and upgrades may be used to switch Appchkr type at the same time, at the
listed price. Deactivate and uninstall the existing type and install the new type in the
same directory if existing data and configuration are to be preserved.
(some cfg params may not be valid in lateral or downgraded type changes)
Any available credits are applied to a higher-priced Appchkr. No conversion nor downgrade
refunds are given for switching to a lower-priced Appchkr or in the event of a target count
price reduction on the website.
Subscription conversions are for active subscriptions only. A cancelled subscription cannot be converted.
Conversions are always made at the same target count. Any target count change desired must
be made separately before or after the conversion.
CANCELLATIONS
Subscription cancellations are effective at the end of their current billing period,
regardless of when made during that period. A cancellation stops new charges. Payments
already billed and paid are not refunded in whole or in part. One-time licenses cannot be
cancelled.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
For a credit card account outside the USA denominated in another currency the
account issuer converts each payment automatically to US dollars at the time
of each billing, using that day's exchange rate. Thus the charge may vary from
one billing to the next, depending on exchange rate fluctuations. Some account
issuers may add a small fee for this service. Such fees, if any, and local taxes,
if any, are not included in the pricing given on the website.
Licenses must be activated in the installed product with the "-activate" option to take effect.
Creating the license on this website begins the billing cycle. Activation only communicates the
parameters of the license to the running program. Delay in activation does not delay future billings.
Subscription prices may change at any time. Existing subscribers will be notified of the change
at the email address provided. Be sure to keep the email address current on our records so as to
receive such notices.
Manual target count limit changes made on the website for a subscription require reactivation in the program
to take effect immediately in the running program. The subscription charge changes as soon as the
change is made on the website, independently of the time of the reactivation.
Uninstalling an activated installation does not end the subscription (to allow transfering
a subscripton to a new host.) Ending a subscription can only be done on the website.
Manual and automatic subscription level increases result in a prorated charge
to your card or account on the day of the change for any partial payment period
created by the change. The billing date for the subscription is unchanged. It is never affected
by the date of any changes. The prorated charge accounts for the number of
days until the billing date at the altered charge. Please be aware that such
charges will appear on your financial account statement.
Subscription level downgrades between billing dates result in a prorated credit applied against
the next amount to be billed, reducing it by the prorated amount. For example
a $20/month billing rate which is downgraded to $10/month in the middle of the
billing cycle will be billed $5 for the first charge after the downgrade, on
the normal billing date for the subscription, and $10/month thereafter. No
credit amount due to a downgrade ever appears on the statement from your
financial account provider -- just the reduced charges at the following
billing dates.
The number of changes to subscription charges within one billing
period, whether manual or automatic, is limited to avoid financial account
activity limits and account churning. Should you hit such a limit simply retry
the change, either on the website or via the configuration file, after the
limit expires.
An unpaid subscription charge causes the program operation to drop back to the free number of targets.
Credit card and PayPal data for subscription billing are handled
solely by a major third party payment processing firm. No credit card
data is ever held, even temporarily, by any of the Appchkr family of
programs, by their websites, nor by Nova Software, Inc.
Nova Software reserves the right to cancel any license at any time for fraudulent, deceptive
or illegal activity associated with the Appchkr and/or its license.
AUTOMATIC SUBSCRIPTION LEVEL UPGRADES AND DOWNGRADES - AUTO-FLEX-CHARGE OPTION
Upgrading to a higher target count limit can optionally be made automatic for monthly subscriptions
by simply configuring the higher number of targets in the program's configuration file.
The change is sent securely to the billing system which automatically adjusts the
monthly charges. Optional downgrading functions similarly. This system makes
changing the target count limit easy and automatic when your needs change.
No extra steps are required on your part -- simply add or remove targets in
your configuration file -- your billing level adjusts accordingly.
Disabling and enabling automatic target count limit changes is done with the
"-auto" commandline option in each installation. Automatic upgrading and
downgrading can be queried and changed independently at any time.
Note that reducing your configured target count below the lowest subscription
level does not end a subscription. The subscription downgrades to the lowest paid target count limit
(e.g. 20) and continues in force.
Email is sent to your email address of record notifying you of any automatic
level change. Add "nova-sw.com" to your "not spam" list to keep such emails
out of any spam trap you may have on the account. Keep the address current
on our records so as not to miss any such emails.
Upgrade charges may be limited financially by your account provider.
Be sure to keep those limits, whether credit card or PayPal, higher than your highest anticipated
target count, even if your beginning level is lower. Should such a limit be encountered, monthly
charges and target count limits continue at the existing level, whether the
change is made manually on the website or automatically from the program.
